Saurus are scarce in the Southlands and the few are employed as
bodyguards to the skink priests or attend to the temple guard of the slann.

As there are the saurus so scarce, some of the skinks have to take on
their role. Those blessed by the warrior god Sotek are the ones who fill this
place best. They are fierce and agile and not so easily beaten than their not
so warlike brethren.
